Introduction

Contrast to Intrapersonal Relations, Interpersonal Relations are what you might think of immediately when thinking of the word Communication. This refers to stuff related to relationships and socialization, and is a large biological need for various interactions we have in daily life.

Interpersonal Communication

”.. is defined as the process of exchanging messages between two or more people to create shared understanding and build relationships.”

However, do not disregard the biological needs for socialization.

”.. is also defined as needed for developing skills essential to humans and building connections for value and dependency inside of humans.”

Interpersonal Communication is supposed to meet personal needs.

  • To develop trust and understanding, growing relationships through consistent and meaningful communication

Different Relationships Throughout Life

There are quite a few classification of relationships in life. Family, friendship, work.. much more.

Usually, you don’t intersect a lot of your interactions between these categories as communication is made for many different purposes.


Purposes of Interpersonal Communication

Interpersonal Relationships are meant to get rid of uncertainty between relationships.

  • To ensure proper understanding of a problem/world by individuals
  • To promise stability in development of communal knowledge
