Psychosocial Theory

It was Erick Erickson who coined this theory in 1950 which presented a conceptual framework for eight stages of life inside of his book,Childhood and Society. He said that there were 8 stages of life, as listed below.


The Eight Stages of Life

  1. Infancy

Your presence as a baby, where your head was the size of your palm right now. Congrats!

This is when they’ll still be rather cute to hold and love.

And now t.he kid is entering kindergarten. Welcome in, the first instances of external influence if your relatives haven’t already given them.

They’re gonna start to have a personality, which you might find cool, or offensive. This is also when they start developing into pseudo-adults.

Now, entering into the times where you have to work for others. Labour and competence pushed forth upon you, for a life of exploration.

You’re now old enough to be considered an unc, or a trusted adult people will look for as an authority on most matters you’re involved in/knowledgeable about. Your contributions likely have impact at this age.

Now you enter the age where you are truly consolidating yourself and your principles, being a standing pillar of your values for the people around you. Reliable as you are probably wise, but you’re likely to keep the issues you haven’t worked on before.
